Muhammad Ibn. Mahmoud was born in Zurmi
Town on 1st August, 1958.He attended Zurmi Township Primary School
from 1963-1969 and proceeded to Government Secondary School Farfaru (Technical)
in Sokotofrom 1970-1974.
Ibn
Mahmoud then proceeded In pursuing his tertiary education where he enrolled
into School of Health Technology Sokoto and acquired the certificate on
National Community Health Assistants from 1979-1981. He later joined the same
school for an advanced knowledge and he got National Diploma on National
Community Health Supervisor from 1985-1986.
In
his thirst for more knowledge, Muhammad Ibn Mahmoud Joined University College
Hospital Ibadan in 1990 where he obtained community Health Officer Certificate
in 1991.IbnMahmoud also studied at UsmanDanfodio University Sokoto from
1993-1994 where he acquired Advanced Diploma in Management studies. He later
proceeded to University of Ilorin in 1995 and graduated in the same year with
National Certificate in Health Planning and Management.
Muhammad
Ibn Mahmoud also obtained the Certificate in Managing Effective Program,
leadership, Team Building and total quality management from Management Training
Centre Global 2000,Jos Nigeria.
In
the year 2000-2001, Muhammad Ibn. Mahmoud was in AbubakarTafawaBalewa
University Bauchi where he obtained Postgraduate Diploma in Community Health
and Hygiene. In 2014,IbnMahmoud participated in a 2 weeks Training on
Entrepreneurship Development programme in Administrative Staff College of
Nigeria Lagos (ASCON).
Despite
all the Certificates acquired from various institutions across the country,
Muhammad Ibn. Mahmoud participated in various workshops and seminars, viz:
He
attended a workshop on National Training on Monitoring and Evaluation for
Monitoring and Evaluation officers in Ogun State; Health Reform foundation
(HERFON) Advocacy workshop on Primary Health Care Under one roof
(PHCUOR);National Orientation workshop on Midwives service scheme (MSS) on
reduction in maternal, new born and child morbidity and mortality in Abuja.
IbnMahmoud
also attended National Orientation workshop on Maternal and Child Health
(MCH),Sure-Pprogramme in Abuja.
He
also attended National Trainthe Trainers workshop on participatory learning and
Action (PLA) in Kaduna. Similarly,He was at the Train thetrainers workshop on
seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) in Sokoto. Muhammad IbnMahmoud
participated at Training of Midwives service scheme (MSS) focal persons on data
collection analysis and management, just to mention but few.
As
for working experience, Muhammad IbnMahmoud worked as Community Health
assistant – I/C Basic Health Clinic KuryaMadaro from 1981-1985. He was a
community Health Supervisor – Deputy I/C Rural Health Centre KauraNamodafrom
1986-1988.
IbnMahmoud
was also a senior community Health supervisor, I/C Shagari Basic Health Clinic
Gusau, from 1988-1989. He was later transferred toSchool of Health Technology
Jega, formerSokoto State, from 1989-1990. He occupied the position ofAssistant
Director PHC monitoring and evaluation/Bamako Initiative (BI) programmefrom
1994-1996. In 2001 IbnMahmoud transferred his service from Zamfara State to
National Primary Health Care development Agency, Abuja, after serving on
secondment in 1998.
IbnMahmoudwas
a Zonal Technical Officer-National Primary Healthcare development Agency from
1998-2009.
IbnMahmoud
served as a State Team leader/Focal person Midwives Service Scheme (MSS), Zonal
Technical officer in Zamfara State 2009 to March, 2015.
He
also conducted supportive supervision both at State and Local government levels
and communities. Training of Health care workers/community members both at
State and Local government level and communities.
The
erudite scholar (Ibn. Mahmoud) also attended the Nigeria-Niger Republic joint
Technical Committee meeting of Experts on Health matters held in Katsina,
Katsina State from 29th Janaury-1st February, 2002.
On labour matters,
Muhammad Ibn. Mahmoud was the pioneer State Chairman of Medical and Health
workers Union of Nigeria Zamfara State council from 1996-2000.

He was also Auditor II Nigeria Labour
Congress,Zamfara State Chapter from 1997-2000.
In recognition
to his service to humanity, Muhammad Ibn. Mahmoud was given a traditional Title
of: Sarkin Rafin Kaura Namoda by His Royal Highness the late Emir of
KauraNamoda,Alh. Ahmad Muhammad Asha (OFR) on 7/2/2017 to date.
